![]() ![]() ![]() Interested participants can go through the video lectures in the following link before attending the hands-on session. This will be based on the video lectures from Lecture~65 to Lecture~74 of my online course "Digital Control in Switched Mode Power Converters and FPGA-based Prototyping" (available on YouTube for free). In this hands-on session, I am going to demonstrate (i) design of digital controller in DC-DC converters, (ii) realization using fixed-point arithmetic, (iii) concept of Q-format and signed operation using 2's complement, (iv) RTL synthesis using Verilog HDL, (v) steps for FPGA prototyping using Xilinx ISE software (Vivado for new version of FPGA devices), and (vi) hardware case studies of counter-based DPWM architecture and digital PID controller in DC-DC converters. Summer School, which will be jointly organized by the School of Electrical Sciences, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhubaneswar and IEEE Power Electronics Society during July 10 to 14, 2023. Beside my tutorial session, I am also going to conduct a 2-hour hands-on training session on "Digital Control Implementation using Fixed-Point Arithmetic and Rapid Prototyping using an FPGA Device" on July 11 (morning session) as part of the Ph.D. ![]()
